I've been writing songs since 1979. I have members of my family who have also contributed to some of my music. My sister likes my serenade songs (I have 4 so far) and she writes words and then sings them. She has a powerful voice and sings more like the professional than I do. The songs she does are "Falling" which is about the world trade center, "Tears in the wind" and "Changes" and the 4th one which I haven't uploaded yet is "I'm searching".
I've written over 80 songs, about 10 of them instrumentals. Some are about events that have happened in my life, some are just purely fictional, and others about worldwide events like 9-11. "Changes" (Serenade 3) came about one hot summer day when I recorded the instrumental. I listened to what I had done for about an hour and then tweeked it to where it is now. My sister liked it so much that she wanted to do a song for it and so came over to my house and worked on it, writing the words about our early childhood.
I am still learning how to mix this music, there seems to be no end to what one can do. Any recommedations would be greatly appreciated as unless I accidentally find another way to improve the way I mix them, the little things that I could be doing may not happen for a good long while. The recording is important, but without a good mix, it's not going to sound as good.
