Influenced by many but defined by none, Iris Isoa is an eclectic mixture of everything musical. Born in Sapele, Nigeria, she moved to the United States at the tender age of seven. This young songstress embodies the essence of a true artist. Her gifted abilities in the art of writing and singing merge together to create a sound that is undeniably unique. Her one of a kind ability to grasp the emotions, hardships, and experiences of humanity and express them through music and song has gotten her noticed by industry heavy weights like the vice president of Jive Records Kevin Shyne. She has worked with some of the industry’s most in-demand producers from Bari Taylor to RePETE, and TazloTrack.
When asked what she would classify her music as her response is, “its eclectic soul; It’s a mixture of different genres that breed into one to release everything that is in my soul. Everything I write comes from a personal place. I never sit down and say oh, I’m gonna write a pop record or an R&B song today. I just let it flow and come out of me in whatever shape or form it chooses”. Her unique talent was unveiled at a local church and she has been perfecting her craft ever since.
When asked what keeps her love for music alive, “passion” is her reply. “When you have a true passion for something it takes over you in a way that nothing else can”. “Music is my passion. It moves the very essence of who I am”. Influenced by such great artists as Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Estelle, Joss Stone, Alicia Keys, Madonna and Janet Jackson: Iris Isoa is destined to be among the list of the greatest that ever did it. Her love for music transcends even her own understanding.
Author Crystal Stanton states that in order to become the best, you have to surround yourself with the best and that’s exactly what this talented singer and songwriter has done.
