On my first travel to the rain forests of S.E.Asia some 20 years ago I became enchanted by the sounds of that most exquisite nature.
I decided to record the ambient sound "As is" since most of the nature recordings I'd heard at the time seemed to have been mixed from individual sound bites.
Armed with digital recording gear, hammock, flysheet and rice I spent 2 to 3 months of each of the following several years following native trails deep into the primary rain forest of Peninsular Malaysia where I made these recordings.
I have had to do some editing in the form of clipping out noises such as twigs or debris falling from the canopy too close to the mikes. Other than that these recordings are true nature in all its wonderful glory. Music not added.
