FAQs



Site Visitors

  1. Do I need to sign up to browse the site?
    No. There is complete access to all music samples and musician profiles at any time. You only need to sign-up to purchase downloads. You must, however, agree to the Terms of Use available for review on any page throughout the site as a condition of visiting or using the site.

Unsigned Musicians

  1. I’m an unsigned musician. How do I get paid?
    You will receive payment for each recorded download, on a monthly basis. You will need to set up an account with PayPal to receive funds to be deposited by electronic transfer to your PayPal account as per our instructions to PayPal, based on your recorded download sales for the month.
  2. Can I obtain my funds in any other manner?
    Yes. You may contact PayPal to request issuance of a debit card in order to access your proportionate funds owing to you from Rmusic. You may also request PayPal to issue a cheque to you for proportionate funds owing from Rmusic. A small fee will be applied by PayPal for these services.
  3. Can anyone download my music for free?
    No. The customer will have access only to the content you provide in the form of music samples as uploaded by you in the form of a full song or musical piece, which is then auto sampled by Rmusic. PayPal must receive a credit card confirmation before customers can download complete songs and/or music from the site.
  4. I have a record contract. Can I use the Rmusic site?
    Yes, if your record company puts into place an agreement with you which permits such an arrangement. Rmusic accepts no liability in this regard. See your musician agreement with us.
  5. Will my personal information provided to you be used for unsolicited advertising?
    No. Your personal information is never shared with third parties. See our privacy policy.
  6. Are there any other fees or charges to me beyond my 70¢ per download payment-to-me structure?
    No
  7. How do I cancel my account?
    Go to the Cancel Account section. Your account will be terminated after completing the information required of you.
  8. Am I under any contract with Rmusic?
    No. You are not locked into any contract for any minimum period of time. You must, however, abide by the terms which you agreed to, for the duration of time your content is on the Rmusic site. The terms of the Rmusic site are subject to change upon providing 30 days notice via email to the address submitted to us by users of the site. See the musician agreement for more details.
  9. Do I give up any rights to ownership of my music or copyrighted content?
    No. See our musician agreement.
  10. Will I receive a tax form for my earnings?
    No. You are an independent contractor, and are not an employee of Rmusic, nor is there any partnership arrangement of any nature between you and Rmusic. You have a record of your downloads in your musician account page. You are responsible for all income reporting to the appropriate governing bodies in your jurisdiction. See your musician agreement with us for further details.
  11. I’m on another site. Can I also use the Rmusic site?
    Yes, providing there are no restrictions placed on you in this regard by the other site. Review your terms/policies/ and agreements with that site.
  12. I would like to see my records of monies paid to me. Can I?
    Yes, PayPal will issue to you, upon request, a statement of of credits and debits pertaining to your account. Rmusic will also keep a record of your downloads for your review if required. See your musician agreement.

Music Fans and Customers

  1. I’m a music download customer. Is my credit card information safe?
    Yes. Rmusic does not keep a record of your credit card information. Your credit card data is passed securely to PayPal for processing. PayPal states that its heavily encrypted data base ensures complete information safety and privacy. See PayPal’s website and terms and conditions for further information.
  2. My mp3 music download wasn’t successful. What do I do?
    Check your download capabilities and internet connections. If they are functioning properly then contact us. We will make all reasonable efforts to rectify the situation if it is a problem generated by our site.
  3. I have complaints or suggestions to improve your site. How can I forward these to you?
    We have a comments section. We also have a Contact Us button. We will be happy to receive your comment, and will review your correspondence thoroughly.
  4. I’ve forgotten my password. What do I do?
    Simply click the “forgot your password” icon located on the login page and follow the prompts.
  5. Will I receive a receipt for charitable contributions?
    No. Rmusic is making the contributions as per your direction to us from our approved list. See your customer agreement.
  6. I have seen or heard of spam, abusive or illegal content on the site. What do I do?
    Every page has a button to click for such an occurrence. We will exercise our best efforts to remedy the situation promptly.
